How to use
For best results, ensure surfaces are dry, clean, and free from dust and grease. Protect any solvent-sensitive surfaces nearby the area you are bonding.
1. Always point Bostik All Purpose glue away from you when opening and do not squeeze the tube
Applying to hard surfaces
2. On hard surfaces such as glass and metal, apply the all purpose adhesive to both surfaces. Allow between 5 to 10 minutes drying time, before pressing the surfaces firmly together. Note, the bond will be instant and non-adjustable so press together with care
Applying to absorbent surfaces
3. On absorbent surfaces, apply the multipurpose adhesive generously to one surface, then immediately bring the items together, applying pressure until the glue sets.
4. After use, wipe nozzle with a cloth and replace cap
How to remove
When wet, excess Bostik All Purpose clear glue can be removed using nail polish remover or acetone.
For dried multipurpose adhesive, it is important to work very carefully and protect the surrounding surfaces to reduce potential damage during the removal process. Soak in acetone, rubbing alcohol or vinegar and then scrape away as gently as possible. Heating the dried adhesive with a hairdryer can help loosen the glue.
FAQs
What is All Purpose Glue?
Bostik All Purpose Glue is a clear, multipurpose adhesive suitable for most materials. It is a solvent-borne adhesive which produces a dried film which is virtually colourless and non-staining, making it great for everyday repairs and minor household DIY projects.
This All Purpose clear glue is quick-drying, clean and easy-to-use and provides an ultra strong, water-resistant bond with excellent ageing properties.
How long does All Purpose Glue take to dry?
Bostik All Purpose adhesive's drying time is generally within 10 minutes, with the bond fully set in a few hours. However, type of surface the adhesive is bonding affects when the surfaces should be stuck together, and for how long they should be left to adhere. Please refer to our ‘How to use’ section for further information.
How do I prepare the surfaces to be glued?
Before applying glue, ensure that all surfaces are of sound nature and clean, dry and free from dust, grease or any other contamination.
There is glue on my fingers and I can't remove it, what should I do?
Rinse your fingers immediately with plenty of warm soapy water and do not pull on the skin that has been glued. If glue remains after using warm soapy water, it will often de-bond within a couple of days due to general wear and tear and the natural oils in the skin. If skin irritation occurs, consult a doctor.
What is the shelf life of the adhesive I have bought and where can I store it?
The shelf life of adhesives varies from product to product, but typically ranges between one and two years from the date of manufacture when unopened and stored correctly in dry conditions - usually between +5°C and +25°C. Once opened, the life of the product will be more limited – this is dictated by variables including the type of adhesive, how it is stored, and how much adhesive is left unused. For more information, refer to the product’s Technical Data Sheet.
